Patronism: Make Music Happen

Until the advent of recorded music the modern music industry, musicians made music, and patrons made music possible. Record labels then made music a commercial product. Now a compelling artist’s fans can connect directly with them and completely eliminate the need for middle men.

Whatever you can afford – as little as $2 per month - is exactly the amount each artist needs to make more work and share it with the world. And since it’s paid for collectively by the patrons, the music can flow out via file sharing without hurting the artists at all.

In the public area of this website you will find selections from John’s various recordings, biographical information, upcoming shows, tutorials, and videos. In the patron area, you will find every recording he’s ever released - including four that are out of print - one that was never released, an ever-growing miscellaneous section, full live shows, a chat room, a video channel, and more lessons and tutorials. The patron area will grow to meet the needs of the patrons as they request new services.

Get Involved: Become a Patron

While you can listen to some of the tracks here, you can get all of them by becoming a patron. Whatever you can afford between $2 and $20 per month is exactly the amount that will help John make new music for you. Click on any subscribe button. Note: everyone gets the same thing – there is no difference in service between the different levels of patronage, it is simply your chance to chip in wherever you’re comfortable and enjoy the results.
